Lend me your ears. In just a minute, we’ll take a trip to the future. Stand back, widen your imagination and enjoy the trip. Let’s explore the year 2020.
Year 2020. I was awaken by the melody of the songs by the Broadway singers Reycarte Elicor and Bernadette Saducas, coming from the neighborhood.
I stood up, stretched my body the same way as the physical therapists Laudimer Suniega, Rameses Tagose, John Three Pacultad and Aileen Ruelan instructed on their TV show, “Stay Fit”.
After awhile, I reached for the remote control for my daily morning news habit. As I turned it on, I heard the familiar voice of Ruben Gono delivering the headlines of the early morning edition of the “Daily Prophet”. Fellow TV newscasters Al Dofiles and Violeta Paterno were later focused on screen. After them, Lady Cris Abayata finished the news and public affairs program with juicy details of the “Star Scoop” portion.
Moments later, I turned off the TV. I was preparing my breakfast when my doorbell rang. I left the kitchen and headed straight to open the door. There stood a man carrying a package. The label goes, “To: Ma. Kristine C. Yuzon; From: Summitmedia”. The package was a set of magazines from their company, I get free monthly as their endorser.
I opened the box and read the first magazine, “The Gossip”, edited by Aisa Insepido. Featuring in it’s cover, the international dance group, “Jive”, headed by their leader and choreographer Charmaine Monroid with Jovelyn Lonzaga, Regine Dimagnaong, Reymund Camilo and Noriel Jay Niñeza, and also the stars of the must-seen TV Sitcom, “Babae po ako”, Crislyn Salda and Alvin Vergara.
The next magazine, “Totally Young”, features the daughter of Janice Pangaldin and Oliver Tungal, as she wins the ‘2020 Ice Skating Competition for Kids’ held at Los Angeles, California. Pangaldin was the owner of the internationally renowned 5-star hotel in US with almost 50 branches all over the world, while Tungal was the Governor of the state of Wisconsin.
After scanning the pages of some magazines, I sat comfortably at my newly bought rattan furniture, manufactured by DSL Woodcraft, Inc. owned by Elmer Bigtasin, Ryan Preglo and Darren Tampipi.
Next, I browse the glossy pages of the magazine, “Vogue”. From its cover, featuring top ramp model Ronna May Ugay and Ryca Joy Pantinople to the featured stories on the Olympic Gold Medallists Ria Mae Gebana and Ian Lloyd Aniñon by Diane Jane Bastatas, and the famous fortune-teller turned print-ad model Charles Avon Ochia. The lay outing done by artist Jefferson Sangutan was simply fantastic. I’m sure the magazine’s manager Julito Espinosa was grinning ear to ear.
Then went my cellular phone’s sound. It was a message from my manager! It goes, “We’ll have a meeting with the producers of your new movie today. Be at the office at 9:30 am. And we need to talk for your schedule today.” What a busy day!!! Being one of the most famous Hollywood personalities really isn’t that easy!
I looked at my watch. It was quarter to eight.
I finished my breakfast and took a bath. After, I mixed and matched my clothes and get dressed. I called my personal driver and ordered him to drive me to the meeting place. I left the house at nine.
On the way, I continued browsing the pages of another magazine entitled “The Architecture Today”. Featuring the masterpieces of interior designer Rocelyn Piala, architecture Gibson Libatan and civil engineers Louie Cullamat, Jimmy Sibonga and Neil Jun Pañamogan.
I was nearly on the verge of dozing off, when, I suddenly heard the latest song of all female bands, “Three Sisters”, with Jean Rose, Mary Grace and Rowena Siton, I become startled and so, I immediately awoke. I was fond of watching the things outside the car until one billboard caught my eyes. It stars the winners of the ‘2020 Miss World Pageant’ Anna Mei Asombrado, Mildy Joy Coronado, Arlene Bongo and Ruby Jane Martel. They were as beautiful as the morning sun that never fades.
The trip was so fast that I did not noticed I was already at the office.
I then saw myself rushing to the Costumers’ Relation Desk. I then asked Mary Grace Requina with her partner Reynan Lemerin if someone could escort me to the room of our meeting. Lemerin guided me to the meeting room.
I saw some talent managers like Glenny Delos Reyes, Jay Matango and Anacel Sanico and business administrators Vladimir Constantino, Rodel Gabonales and Dennis Dave Jorillo. After some minutes of waiting, the nacreous business tycoon, Jeri Mae Quero who’s one of my closest friends and she will be the producer of my movie that will have a worldwide release arrived with some media men headed by Angely Pantajo.
The meeting ran smoothly. After an hour and a half of talking with them, finally the contract signing began. Lawyers Jered Vergara and Lydy Frency Aniñon prepared the contracts.
After that, my manager informed me that I’d have a lunch meeting with my Charity for Homeless Children at the John Hancock Center, and then a visit to the conference of the International Aeronautical Society of Los Angeles @ the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
It was past eleven. After talking with my manager, I called my driver and ordered him to drive me to the John Hancock Center.
On my way, I saw very well known “Twin Beauty Boutique” ran by twins Hexelle and Hexenne Borja. They specializes stylish dresses and accessories for teens and teens at heart. You can see the beauty of it through the picture of the Hollywood actress and singer Yaniesa Dagpin placed in front of their boutique.
After almost 20 minutes, the car came to at halt. I’m already at the Center. Outside the window, I saw paparazzi waiting for me. I put my hat and glasses on like what Paris Hilton does. I went out of the car and was escorted by the hotel security up to the room reserved for my charity and me. Along the corridors of the hotel, all the people I passed have cameras at hand, flashes all over the place. It’s really a good idea I wore my glasses.
On the room, as I was heading for my seat right on the center, I saw philanthropist Lanier Turing talking with Doctor Rex Montecillo and pediatricians Gean Rose Angel, Margie Arcillas and Lucille Mary Jane Buhat who were one of the people assigned for the health services of the members of our charity. There were a lot of people I did not recognized in the room, talking and chatting. As I took a seat, the meeting immediately started and the waiters and waitresses served the foods.
The usual lengthy discussions ended. Before I went out of the meeting room, I mumbled thanks, shook hands and bid goodbye to the people.
It was early for the next meeting; I decided to visit my aunt at the hospital. I went back to the car and on the way to the hospital; I bought some foods and fruits at one of the stores we passed.
As I arrived, I saw dentists Ariel Aredidon and Jorland Puton talking with their clients. After passing the hallway, I headed to the second room in the left and saw my Aunt chat with surgeon Paul Dominique Nuñez.
As soon as I entered, the doctor left. I talked with my Aunt a couple of minutes before Dr. Adrian Pestolante interrupts us. He specializes in Orthopedics. He reported to me the situation of my Aunt’s scoliosis.
I then looked at my watch and then walked towards the door and bid goodbye to both of them.
I saw in the hallway Pastor Warren Cadiente and Sister Aljen Arellano concerned with the hospital’s chapel activities with Father Jay Monzolin. I then greet them.
Then I continued walking, I saw nurses Jesil Encabo, Irene Mae Flores and Mary Jane Garcia talking with pharmacists Neil Cris Roco and Honey Grace Maglajos.
Then, near the nurse’s station, I passed OB-gynecologist Lyzel Pucong and said Hello.
I left the hospital and headed straight to the Madalay Bay Hotel. Along the way, I received a call from my friend Larry Lanticse, a software industry owner. He asked me if I could tell my manager that computer engineers Nellowell De Roda, Mark Julius Laput and Roel Lumbab with computer programmers Jesil Desierto, Lijie Matango and Rejean Saducas were going to our office to have a meeting with her for the computer literacy project of one of her charities.
As soon as I finished conversation with Lanticse, I called my manager right away. After talking with her, I put down my cell phone and turned on my newly bought i-pod.
After minutes of listening heart-pounding songs, I turned it off when the hotel was already in sight.
We stopped in front of the hotel. As I was on my way inside, adjacent to it, I saw cute and cuddly little puppies and kittens taken care by veterinarians Loui Jay Aranzado, Virgilio Gama and Junrey Juevesano. After moments of amusement, I headed to the Costumers’ Relation Desk and asked Ellen Bruno where’s the conference room of the International Aeronautical Society of LA. Then she called one of the employees of the hotel and ordered him to guide to the room only that she mumbled to him.
When I arrived to the room, I saw lady pilot Jevelou Pactor went in with flight stewardesses Aiza Iligan and Lovely Langamon.
Moments later, Aeronautical engineer Alex Esposo arrived. Engineer Esposo talked to me about certain things relevant to the outer space exploration ‘cause I am a Cum Laude graduate of astronomy at NASA’s special school for selected people. NASA’s Space Shuttle Pilot King Lloyd Abelado will be sent to space for the next journey of mankind, now, to other galaxies.
I was struck and brought to excitement when Abelado said these words, “NASA discovered nascent beginning of finding other existing lives besides within our solar system. With the advance technology and the knowledge of NASA, I will spearhead this adventure using the high-technology system of our Space Shuttle, Alien 101. And for you, the people of the Earth, we’ll find the answers of all of you are puzzled with, about Extra-Terrestrial life.”
The room was filled with applauses and praises.
After more or less two ours of intercourse, it peacefully ended.
As soon as the announcer proclaimed the end of the conference, I immediately went out of the room and contacted my driver.
As I was on my way out, I saw accountants Bernadette Gomez and Ginalyn Hermoso talking to each other. When I passed them, I hurried home.
When I was on the car, I remember the magazines I brought. I saw it on the back seat. I took it and saw the magazine, “Totally Pinas”. Featuring in its cover the newly improved Boracay. Inside it were stories of Chemical Engineers Edward Ruiz and Ronelo Saducas who discovered a formula for the retrieval of the ozone layer. They were awarded of a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The next page stories the Filipino Sea Explorer Jerwin Bejasa who found the lost continent, the Atlantis.
The mag also featured the Twin Biologists Irene and Irish Jainar who found out how to make use of bad bacteria and transform it to good.
Next, UP Professors Michelle Angga, Michelle Matugas and Rodel Gabonales, who discovered the ways to communicate to animals.
The magazine also reports the giving of awards to economists Rommel Cantonao and Michael Pepito, because through them, the economy of the Philippines aroused.
As I continued reading, I discovered that the Filipino Archeologists Glen Delos Reyes, Manny Intapaya and Dindo Gerbania discovered the lost part of all-known “Missing Link”.
The last story features the achievements of Othelo Alinsasaguin as the only mountain climber who climbed Mt. Everest by hands!
I was so amused with the achievements of Filipinos and suddenly said to myself, “I’m proudly Filipina!”
I was not aware of my arrival not until the car stopped. The trip was like a flash.
I went out of the car and look for the keys of the house in my pouch. When I found it, I went inside, then to the kitchen. I pulled water from the refrigerator and drank some of it.
What a tiring day?
I also ate some fruits before I went straight to the room. And when I’m listening music, I think about the things that had happened today. It’s so wonderful to see all those friends successful and fond of their lives.
After moments of my ‘self-talking’ part of the day, I realized I was so exhausted and now needs rest.
Before sleeping, I turned off the lights and said some words of applause, forgiveness and thanks to the God above.
What a wonderful future we have? Isn’t it?
As the saying says, “There is only one success – to spend your life in your own way.” Through living your life by what your heart says, there will sure be happiness, for happiness can be found in your heart, not in money, not in power. Built your way, and reach for the top.
