He is better than other people think he is...
He's sweet, kind, caring, gentleman, and smart... Pero yun nga lang medyo may pagkafeeling gwapo lang at mahilig magpacute sa iba... Pero, who's perfect..?
Kahit away dito, away doon, ay may lambingan dito at lambingan doon naman. We make it to a point that no argument remains unresolved for more than a day... We never ceased to dream that happy endings are just around the corner... And try and try to make those dreams come true... We never stopped to believe that real happiness should never be hindered by money, pride, and jealousy.
-The Story-
I met this guy, not too long ago... I never intended to get into a relationship back then... I was from a long term relationship and all the time I never thought I am ready to have another guy in my life.
It was last year, December 4, 2012. The day when the catastrophic typhoon Pablo crushed the lives of the residents in Northern Mindanao. As an institution which vows to be men and women for others, our school conducted a repacking of relief good for the victims. There, as one of the active students back in college and in the mean time my dormitory was near to the repacking area, I went there and helped.
Good thing about being a leader is having a lot of connections. In reality, after hearing that there will be a relief operation the next day, I went to talk to the President of the student council saying that I am very much willing to go and help the next day. And, fortunately, I was able to.
I started that day thinking what would be an appropriate get up for the day. And I came up with a shirt and a jeans. Well, it was a relief operation after all. We gathered at the office of social involvement. There,I signed a waiver along with other students (well, six of us).
The trip to Tagum City.
A stop over was made to have our big breakfast at Jollibee Tagum. It was then he first talked to me. And the conversation was all about him asking me if I could put the radio inside my bag, coz I brought my Domo bag. Then, malice-less, I did. Upon entering the store, I told him to get me a piece of Chicken Meal only. But, to my surprise, all of us (the students, along with a few faculty, guards and staff) had a 2-pc. Chicken Meal which I am afraid will take me centuries to finish. Hahahaha. Good thing my stomach and my mouth are participating for not complaining and continually grinding the food I put into it.
On our way to Nabunturan.
I was the only student who was not part of the volunteers team of the office that led the relief operations. So at first, I was so shy to talk. I just nod and smiled. But on our way to Nabunturan, we (the people inside the vehicle) started to talk and have a little conversations to keep the atmosphere a little active. He was then talking a lot now. Still did not notice him that much.
Relief Operation.
We were about to start giving away our repacked goods and then he asked the group if who wants to do the photo documentation. And, since I have a secret liking in photography, I volunteered. But having to take pictures did not stop me to still help in the distribution of goods, lifting the sacks of clothes, and entertaining the victims in the area.
Leaving behind.
After the giving away of goods, we went to the Municipal Office to deposit other stuff that we're not able to send away. While still taking pictures, I was also busy dragging the sacks of clothes, shoes, foods to the storage room of the building. Since he was now smiling differently at me which made me think that it was a sign that we are already friends, when he lifts a sack on his shoulders and he passes me, I tickle him at his sides, a sign of my kakulitan. Then, we keep on laughing and unconsciously looking at each other.
Going back to the way it was.
On our way back to Davao, I changed seats and now seated at the far most end of the vehicle, just right next to the door. He was seated at the same side, a meter away from me. He was now wearing his sunglasses but the funny thing was, I see him looking at me. It was nothing at first... maybe he was looking at the scenery. Then, we started singing I found out he knows how to play the guitar and he's going to join Awitenista... I was so amazed... Then, I told him I am joining too but I am still looking for someone who could play an instrument for my entry. And to my amazement, he said he could do it. I don't know if he is just being kind or what but I think that made him more interesting in my eyes. In the mechanics, no instrumentalist must join two entries of the same category. So, we agreed to go to the steering committee if they could allow it during the preliminaries. Then, we sang and sang and talked and talked on our way back.
Back to the school.
When we arrived, he asked me if I could accompany him back to the office (by the way, he is a student assistant of the same office that led the relief operations) to bring back some of the things that were brought during the trip. And, I agreed. After, we went to the steering committee's office and tried to look for the one in-charge. He was not yet there and will be back after half an hour. So, innocently, we agreed to stay at the food court to grab some food. And, as we walked along the food court, I saw my choir mate Robyn and a bunch of guys seated not too far. I went there and greeted them and to my surprise, the guy I am with and the people who are seated, including my choir mate knew each other. That's when I knew they were classmates. The bell rang for the 8th period class, and he was in a hurry coz he still had a class. Then I told him that I will be the one who will get back to ask about the instrumentalist thingy. Then he said, to inform him after and get his number from Robyn. Hahahaha.
Awitenista.
I was able to talk to the one in-charge and let us go with our idea of him as my instrumentalist for my entry. Now, I sent him a text saying that he can be in my entry. He then replied of a far out text of asking if I am home already. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, our day ended messaging one another good night.
The love story that I never ever dreamt of having.
We started seeing each other for our Awitenista preliminaries last December 8, 2013. Then, an intermission number the next day for my Biolympics activity at City High. After, we planned of an outrageous birthday act for him. We were choosing from a dance number at the nearest mall in the area, to a long walk, a visit to a bar, and the one we chose, a night of singing at a KTV. It was December 11, 2012, the day before his birthday that supposedly I have a dinner meeting that got postponed because of the not-so-good weather that night. So, instead of celebrating his birthday on the 12th, we agreed to have it that night. So, we went to a KTV bar and all I did was sing and sing and sing while he dances to whatever song I choose. Then, we ordered drinks and pika-pika for us to eat... In the middle of my singing, I looked at him and suddenly he asked me if he can be my boyfriend. And unconsciously (but maybe that was my subconscious mind) I said yes. We went to text my choir mate and at the same time his classmate, Robyn that we are already in a relationship that night... I think it was a few minutes before midnight. And Robyn was surprised and happy for us.
The story goes with a lot of ups and downs, smiles and tears, yet, we came to love each other more each day. This part ends here, yet our story goes until now...

Being in love is at first a feeling that is overwhelming.
But, to stay in love, a couple should work for it,
never give up, and continue falling for each other.
Never stop believing in love, it'll come a time, that yours will be read.
